2-Stroke Scooter Setup

  1. Fill battery with acid to the full lines.  Charge battery for 6-8 hours at 1.5 amps.  Most battery chargers can be purchased as inexpensive as $20. Most chargers will automatically shut off when the battery is fully charged.  It is very important for the charging system to work properly to keep the battery charged that the battery have a full charge in it.  The scooter will not charge a low battery they will maintain a fully charged battery.
  2. Install the mirrors.
  3. Add 2-cycle oil to the oil reservoir.  Use a name-brand oil such as Pennzoil, Quaker state, etc.
  4. On the first tank of gas premix your gas with 2-cycle oil.  The oil needs to be mixed thoroughly with the gas or you will have oil separation and the scooter won’t run.  You can buy a 1 gallon gas can and premix it in the can.  The ratio is 32:1.  This is about 4 ounces of oil to 1 gallon of gas.  You will not have to add 2-cycle oil to the gas again.  This is only for the break in period.  The oil reservoir must also be filled!
  5. Once your battery is charged install it in your scooter.
  6. Start the scooter.  It might not start immediately when you first try to start it.  It does not have any gas in the carburetor so it takes a few minutes for everything to be pumped through.  It is usually best that you do not turn the throttle for starting.  If equipped with a manual choke, put the choke lever on full choke, hold the brake lever and depress the start button.  On some scooters with electric automatic choke, sometimes it starts easier with part throttle.
  7. Ride and Enjoy your scooter safely!!
